His cousin, Rico Wade, a member of The Dungeon Family and a record producer, inspired Future to develop his songwriting and rapping talents into a viable career. Wade also provided Future with an escape from the challenges of street life. Over the years, Future has acknowledged his cousin as the visionary behind his distinctive sound.

Career

Future began his mixtape journey in 2010 with releases like “1000,” “Dirty Sprite,” and “True Story.” He collaborated with Gucci Mane on the album “Free Bricks.” As DJ Esco began spinning Future’s tracks at Magic City, a well-known Atlanta strip club, Future gained significant attention and popularity. Magic City has been instrumental in launching the careers of various Atlanta rappers. In late 2011, Epic Records reached out to Future, resulting in a record deal and the prompt release of the successful mixtape “Streetz Calling.” His debut album, “Pluto,” followed in spring 2012 and featured four hit singles, including the chart-topping “Turn on the Lights” which reached number two on the U.S. hip hop and R&B charts. Personal Life

The mothers include Jessica Smith, Brittni Mealy, India J, Ciara, and Joie Chavis. He shared an engagement with Ciara from 2013 to 2014, which ended reportedly due to his infidelity. Together, Future and Ciara welcomed a son named Future Zahir Wilburn, born in May 2014.

Future has faced legal action from both Jessica Smith and Ciara. Smith filed a lawsuit for unpaid child support, alleging that the rapper has neglected their son. Conversely, Ciara sued Future for defamation, slander, and libel following a series of Tweets where he criticized her and expressed grievances about his visitation rights.

In 2019, two women, Eliza Seraphin (known as Eliza Reign) from Florida and Cindy Parker from Texas, filed separate paternity suits against Future. Initially, he allegedly refused to undergo a DNA test.
